Hey guys! Today I’m sharing with you the amazing uses that essential oils have! We’ll talk about they’re properties. Let’s get started!
Why are Essential Oils good for you?
Essential oil are basically aromatic compounds that you can find on seeds, sticks, flowers, roots or bark of any plant you can think of; an essential oil basically protects the plant from the environment, but also it helps with pollination. Not just they’re good for plants, but for us: they had been used for food preparation, for health care treatments and for beauty. They have many uses:
- Aromatic: you can use them with a diffuser, just add a few drops of it on some water and it’ll aromatize the entire room.
- Internal: As I mentioned before, people used to cook with them. They can be consumed and they’re totally saved for the body. You can add a few drops on your water or even when your cooking!
- Topical: Essential oils have the amazing property that can be absorbed easily by our skin, so some of them you can rob it onto your skin and it’ll absorb its properties.
Personal Favorite Essential Oils
This essential oil is by far my favorite! It just has so many benefits: it’s an analgesic, anticoagulant, anticonvulsant, antidepressant, antifungal, antihistaminic, anti-infectious, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antimutagenic, antiseptic, antispasmodic, antitoxic, antitumor, cardiotonic, regenerative, and sedative properties. They’re a lot, but basically, it’s known for its ability to calm and relax the body and soothe the mind.
You can apply it on the back of your neck to reduce the muscle tension, that’s because the body systems that are commonly affected by it are cardiovascular and nervous systems; also, it affects our emotions, by relaxing us making us feeling peace and love, and the skin by reducing irritation and relieving allergy symptoms.
Personally, I use it at night time. I mix a few drops with water and I spray it all over my bed sheets and pillows. Then I robe a little bit on my feet, back of the neck and on my hands.
Because of it’s spice, it’s main use if internal: you can prepare delicious meals with it! But also, it helps your immunity system and helps with your circulation. A not so known use of it, is that its an aphrodisiac. Also, it helps to stimulate your mind.
Lemon is known for its aromatic, topically and internal use. First, it’s a powerful cleanser agent that not just helps purifying the air if you diffuse it in a room; at the same time, it creates an energized atmosphere and it improves mood and the cognitive ability. It can also be used as a non-toxic cleaner in your home, for example its perfecto for cleaning wood or metal.
If you take it internal, Lemon is not just refreshing if you add some drops on your water, but also, it’s a powerful antioxidant that helps with digestion that helps ward off free radicals. Lemon also helps when your sick and you have a soothe and irritated throat, also it’ll help with your respiratory function.
Sandalwood, just as Lavender, has so many benefits! Its amazing for your skin, by promoting the appearance of a healthy and smooth skin. Also, it reduces its imperfections by reducing acne.
It helps improving the mood, and its also an aphrodisiac and it has sensual properties. Sandalwood, it’s also used for meditation, because of it’s uplifting and grounding properties.
It contains beneficial terpenoids, flavonoids and menthol. It promotes healthy respiratory function and a clear breathing. It also, alleviates the stomach upset. But one of the most important uses it has, is that it helps improving your memory and with concentrations. I always diffuse it when I’m studying, it works really well!
Finally, rose is great for facial swelling, and irritation. But most important is a pain release, so it’s great for premenstrual pain and its also a sleep inducer!
